There was a whimsical sign in the elevator that said, “Try and slow your breath when you see the view,” and the building was all of four stories, so I thought, oh – that’s cute – the agent has a sense of humor. Nice!
And the apartment was very pretty. It was bright, and clean, and updated, and airy and sunny, and had flow and two large, extravagant bedrooms with closet space, and slick bathroom remodels to go with the whole look of the place, which was updated, and ready to go, and what they mean when they say – turnkey. As for the view it was nice, it was a nice peek-a-boo view from the bedrooms.
But then I went a bit off toward the elevator to a communal balcony and I can honestly say, I have never, ever, ever, seen a view like that in L.A. And I’ve lived here half my life. It was total jetliner (I’m sure) if it were night time. It was downtown, it was hills, and classic Silver Lake below, and the iconic rows of palm trees prickling in the two correct ledges, and layers of the blue gray mountains in the back, and all from an angle that felt ensconced in the view and yet entirely above it, which is exactly what a view should do. It was a view that spanned about 300 degrees. It was a F’ ^%@*#*ing V I E W!
